Sometimes it helps to give natural processes a little boost. Human skin is constantly peeling off, shedding and replacing dead cells. However, this doesn’t always happen as quickly as we’d like. Chemical peel treatment can speed up this process.
Chemical peeling is a dermatological-aesthetic treatment that has a very stimulating and regenerating effect on the skin with a chemical acid. Chemical peeling is a non-invasive method that refresh and rejuvenate aging skin, reduce fine wrinkles, minimize acne scars or of enlarged pores but also for removing pigment spots. They wear away the upper parts of the skin layer, stimulate the formation of collagen in deeper skin layers and inhibit acne bacteria (Propionibacterium Acnes). Chemical peeling can also be beneficial for oily skin.
Bulky skin around the chin, large or rough pores, an uneven complexion – often due to nicotine, sunbathing without protection factor cream, frequent visits to the solarium and acne scars, but also genes responsible for an uneven complexion.
Chemical peeling is used as the optimal treatment method in many cases. First and foremost, chemical peeling leads to a fresher and plump appearance and is therefore often used as a rejuvenation or anti-aging method.
In the case of acne, too, they calm the skin, refine pores, heal inflammation and improve skin impurities and are suitable for the treatment of scars. In the case of discoloration or pigment spots or pigment irregularities, certain peelings brighten the skin and can even out the skin color. For special treatment regions such as Dark circles under the eyes or sleepy eyelids are worked with special peelings.
Chemical peeling at LASER ÄSTHETIK INSTITUT in Dortmund, Essen and Düsseldorf is in contrast to mechanical peeling processes that detach the skin through the action of chemical substances.
Depending on the desired depth effect, i.e. penetration depth, a distinction is made between three chemical peeling methods: there are superficial, medium-deep and deep peeling . The higher the removal of the uppermost skin layers, the stronger the applied substances have to be, but also the more effective the effect.
A chemical peel in Düsseldorf not only cleanses deeply, but also lasts for several years, depending on the method. Women and men who do not want to have an operation can improve their skin surface structure with a chemical peel in Dortmund.
Light peelings with e.g. Salicylic acid (BHA) or glycolic acid (AHA) accelerate the so-called skin turn-over. The peelings allow the complexion to be made clear and even again, they also help with acne & and oily skin . Salicylic acid not only removes skin cells on the surface, it also reduces the secretion of sebum. Therefore, salicylic acid peels clear clogged pores that contribute to acne breakouts. A stronger glycolic acid can also be used to treat certain skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots and acne infections.
Stronger peelings such as TCA peelings made from trichloroacetic acid lead to a strong formation of new collagen and thus to firm, smooth skin, fight against scars, acne scars and reduce wrinkles and sun damage (photo-aging) symptoms such as pigment spots . At LASER ÄSTHETIK INSTITUT we offer TCA peelings in different strengths, depending on your specific condition and your goals.
The skin consists of three layers: upper skin (epidermis), dermis (dermis) and subcutis (subcutis).
The use of a chemical peeling improves the surface structure of the facial skin: by detaching the outer and dead skin cells, the epidermis is stimulated and regenerated, and new structures are built. In the dermis there is a thickening of the skin due to the formation of collagen fibers and the moisture content, i.e. the skin’s ability to bind water, increases.
chemical peel helps the skin to
stimulate and regenerate the epidermis

Chemical peels are mostly used on the face and décolleté, but in some cases also the back and back of the hand. A pigment-stabilizing cream therapy should be started at least 4 weeks before the first peeling treatment. A total of about 2-10 treatments are useful, with each treatment causing a visible improvement.
And this is how it works: The peeling (the acid) is applied to the face with a brush or cotton pad and removed again after a few minutes. You can feel a slight burning sensation. Due to the acid, the top layer of skin dies, which then begins to peel and slowly renews. After two to six, max. ten sessions, during which the acid concentration is gradually increased, the skin looks younger and smoother, but deep wrinkles do not disappear.
Your skin will begin to peel after about 2-3 days. This takes about 3-5 days. It is particularly important that you strictly avoid the sun and use sun protection products after the chemical peel. Such peelings are not carried out during the warm season (summer). Chemical peelings are comparable to a surgical procedure in terms of stress and have side effects such as temporary increased UV sensitivity and thus possible pigmentation, redness and risks such as infections.
