Aftercare for tattoo removal treatment in LASER AESTHETICS practice

Tattoos can be removed anywhere on the skin using a variety of methods. However, laser tattoo removal is not over after your session. It usually takes from 8 to 12 sessions to successfully remove a tattoo. Successful tattoo removal at LASER AESTHETICS practice includes optimal aftercare, as this is a thermal reaction to the colour particles lying in the skin.

Good care can speed up the healing and removal process. For this reason, you should be especially attentive the days after the treatment.

Laser tattoo removal in LASER AESTHETICS is a thermal reaction to the ink particles in the skin, so your body may experience the following reactions after your session: swelling of the affected area, redness, bruising, crusting or even blisters.

What are the best things to look out for after your session?

The first 24 hours after your treatment

It is especially important that you keep the treated area as cool as possible for the first 24 hours. Avoid using ice cubes when cooling.

Immediately after the treatment, we will cover your treated area with sterile gauze compresses and apply a plaster. You can only remove this bandage after 24 hours.

After first 24 hours

After removing the gauze compresses and plasters, proper care is very important: Use healing ointment such as “Laser AfterCare” cream L1 and L2, wound and burn ointment or panthenol. Please do not use Vaseline!

In case of burn blisters: please do not burst wound blisters that have formed. You should not remove crusts that have formed, as this can allow germs and bacteria to enter the body and cause infections. This in turn can lead to annoying scarring; they should disappear by themselves after a short time.

Any redness and crusting that has developed will disappear by itself after a short time.

Please make sure, especially during the first two days, that the treated area is only cleaned with clear water and that it is kept as dry as possible. Wear clothes that do not chafe!

It is especially important to protect the areas from direct sunlight in the following weeks. Use a sun protection factor of 50+.

Please also avoid swimming pools, saunas or solariums during the 7-10 days.

Avoid/reduce weight training during the first few days. Muscle contractions during sports are not beneficial during wound healing. Sweat can also lead to inflammation.

✓ sufficient sleep supports your body and your immune system

✓ get enough exercise such as walks

✓ avoid stimulants such as smoking and alcohol

✓ a secret tip from us for you: take bromelain tablets in the morning and evening. These speed up the healing and breakdown of the ink due to the bromelain enzymes they contain.

The tattoo removal process is not finished with the laser treatment in our practice, because the success of the treatment also depends on your cooperation!
